And here we are again, at the close of a six-month slide into darkness, culminating in the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and one that signifies the return of the coveted light of the sun. Ironic, isn’t it, that every day after the first will be lighter and brighter than the one before? Winter gets a bad rap.
